The Number of the Beast (englisch für „Die Zahl des Tieres“) ist das dritte Studioalbum der britischen Heavy-Metal-Band Iron Maiden. Es wurde am 22. März 1982 veröffentlicht und von Martin Birch produziert. Der Titel des Albums bezieht sich auf die Offenbarung des Johannes, in der 666 als „die Zahl des Tieres“, also des Teufelsvertreters auf Erden, bezeichnet wird.
